Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Specialist acquires supplies, materials, and parts for the company, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement. This role involves anticipating material needs, collaborating with various departments, and resolving supplier issues to enhance operational performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; direct purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies. 
  • Manage and participate in the purchasing process, procurement process, inventory handling process, and claim process with the relevant teams
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Find solutions to overcome roadblocks in the workflow and improve internal procedures to maximize efficiency and optimize the team’s workflow.
  • Investigate, evaluate, manage, and complete the claim cases with the vendors to minimize the loss from the materials with issues.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 2-3 years of purchasing or manager experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management, required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as inventory software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean.
 

Work Hours: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)
